In the presuit of creature features and the impending closure of our beloved Obstruction Pass DNR campground, we relocated to the Odlin County Park on Lopez Island in 2002.

Legend
has it that a few young (now old) Boeing Engineers in the early 80's set
foot on a secluded beach on Orcas Island. It was the Department of Natural
Resources Obstruction Pass Park. Located across from Obstruction Island
on the southeast tip of Orcas Island in the San Juan Island Archipelago.
And so the tradition started on the weekend closest to the opening day of crab pot season, which is July 16th (the last few years it has opened early!). This year, the Twenty-First Annual weekend is July 15/16 and through the following week! Get there early to reserve your spot. Sites go quickly. Plenty of anchorages are available in the bay.
